Beautiful locations for photoshoots near Carmarthen
We are both born and raised in Carmarthen, and there can’t be many places we haven’t captured with our camera already. The town is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, with castles, parks, and a great number of picturesque spots for your dream wedding or engagement photoshoots. We’ve got so many ideas for you. Here are some of our favourite ideas for photoshoots near Carmarthen.
For a bit of the natural world in your photographs we can photograph you at one of Carmarthen’s beautiful gardens. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is the most famous of these, but we also love the bandstand at Carmarthen Park, Aberglasney Gardens, Green Castle Woods and Abergwili Museum. We particularly love Dinefwr Park in spring when the bluebells provide a carpet of bluebells for photography.
Carmarthen boasts many historic castles that provide a classic backdrop for your photographs – we really are spoiled for choice in this part of the world. In the town itself, provides an imposing background. Within a short distance from your venue we can photograph you at Carmarthen Castle, Kidwelly Castle, and Llansteffan Castle. Just a bit further away we can also visit Dryslwyn Castle, Dinefwr Castle and Carreg Cennen Castle.
We love incorporating reflections and flowing water into photos, so you might want to consider views of Carmarthen Bay. We recommend Pendine’s seven mile stretch of golden sands, Ferryside’s fishing village and estuary views, and Llansteffan with a beach and imposing castle.
However, we believe the best of the bunch is Laugharne.
This beautiful village is a bit of a hidden gem which boasts the world famous Dylan Thomas Boathouse, estuary views and a medieval castle – a great little place to capture several backdrops in a single shoot!
Finally, our absolute favourite location for photographs, Paxton’s Tower is a hilltop folly with great views over the Tywi Valley while also being an epic backdrop in its own right. We love taking our couples here for photographs they will treasure forever.
On your wedding day we can whisk you away to capture your dream wedding photos at special locations like these. This typically happens between your ceremony and reception, or could take place during your reception after your dinner and returning for the first dance.
As part of our service we check weather conditions, the position and timing of sunset and plan your visit accordingly to make the absolute best of the lighting and atmosphere for your photographs.
