South Wales Wedding Photography Prices

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! If you’ve reached this page you have probably already discovered that prices and packages for south Wales weddings can vary greatly, ranging from a couple of hundred pounds to several thousand. Sometimes it’s hard to even find what photographers charge!

Good news – our pricing and packages are very transparent. This page tells you exactly what we charge and what you’ll get for your investment with us. No hidden charges, no upselling, and we definitely won’t nag you into spending more than you need to. (We get it. Weddings are expensive enough!)

Fast track editing – £350

All packages come with a 4 week turnaround. If you’d like your images back within 7 days, please select this option. This does not mean your images editing is rushed; it means we have to block off time in the following week to select and edit your photos sooner.

Wedding album – from £350

Couples sometimes overlook this important part of the big day. We work with the best providers in the industry to produce stunning printed mementos of your wedding day. You can request this at the time of booking, or if you’re unsure you can even add this option on after the wedding. We will consult with you on the best layout and print options for your album.

Engagement photoshoot – £195 

A one hour mini-shoot at a location of your choosing within one hour’s travel time of Carmarthen. An additional fee will apply for locations further away. Must be requested when booking a wedding photography package and subject to availability.

Your questions, answered

We don’t like having our photos taken. How will you make us feel at ease?

Correction: you don’t like having your photo taken yet.

We hear this from couples all the time. You aren’t alone, in fact it’s pretty normal. Ask any of our past couples and they will tell you we will make you feel relaxed, your photos won’t feel like a chore, and you’re going to have fun with us.

If you’re still anxious, we recommend booking an engagement shoot. This is an hour of photos at a scenic location but it’s not just about taking nice photos, it’s a chance to get to know your photographer and practice being on camera. There’s no awkwardness on your wedding day when we turn up – we already met and are best of friends already.

Which of you will photograph my wedding?

We prefer to discuss this with you at the time of booking so there are no surprises. As our diary fills up nearer the time we will arrange a consultation with your designated photographer. 

Can I request Kelly or Mathew specifically to be our lead photographer?

Yes, and some couples do, particularly if we have met before. We each take a limited number of weddings a year, and popular dates go early. If your first choice is already booked for your date, we’ll say so straight away rather than leaving it vague, and you’re very welcome to meet the other of us and decide from there. Rest assured though, you will receive the same excellent service regardless of which of us joins you.

I booked the Deluxe or The Works package. Does this mean both Mathew and Kelly will be photographing our wedding? 

This happens often, but we cannot guarantee this particularly at peak season when one of us might be booked. If you’d like to guarantee both of us for your wedding date, please make this request at the time of enquiry. Rest assured though, our second photographers are excellent and their work blends in seamlessly with the images your lead photographer delivers. 

What does a second photographer do, and do I really need one?

A second photographer works alongside your lead photographer on the day, under their direction. They are not simply a spare pair of hands taking the same photo from a slightly different spot, they cover the things that one person physically can’t.

In practice that usually means:

• Capturing prep photos of both partners
• Reactions during the ceremony – your lead is on you while you say your vows; the second photographers captures the reactions of guests
• A second angle (and a bit of insurance policy) on the big moments such as your first kiss, the confetti shot – these are moments that cannot be staged or re-shot; a second photographer is there as a backup in case your uncle gets in the way
• Many more candid photos of your guests – while you are having your formal photos as newlyweds, the second photographer is capturing all your guests at the reception 

You may not believe you need a second photographer, but we have never encountered a couple who regretted their decision to have one.

Having said all this – for a smaller, single-venue day with a relaxed timeline, or a wedding with a modest guest list, then one photographer is genuinely plenty, and we’ll tell you this upfront rather than upsell you on a second photographer that you don’t really need.

What happens if my photographer falls ill?

This is the one real advantage of there being two of us. If your lead can’t make it, the other steps in wherever their own diary allows – same contract, same editing, same delivery.

If we’re both committed that day, we call on a small circle of photographers we know and trust, and we’d introduce you rather than just sending someone. Either way, your booking is covered and we’d never leave you scrambling. 

Who edits my photos?

Your lead photographer edits your full gallery themselves, including anything the second shooter has captured. 

Can we include images of the pre-wedding preparation?

All our full day packages will include some coverage of the bridal / first partner preparation. Would you also like images of the groom / second partner getting ready? If so, it is worth considering a second photographer for the day – although many say we can work magic behind the camera, we can’t be in two places at once!

Coffee or tea?

Either one is fine. Milky with two sugars, please.

Will we get coverage of the speeches and first dance?

Couples sometimes overlook this important part of the big day. We are both very experienced at shooting in low-light conditions so we will make sure these special moments aren’t missed.

When do we get our photos delivered?

We guarantee a maximum four week turnaround on your images. During our quieter times of year (October, November, February and March) this can be as short as two weeks. On average our clients get their photos back within three weeks, however we offer a one week guaranteed turnaround as an upgrade if you are too excited to wait.

Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?

Absolutely – we’d love to photograph more, in fact. 

Who picks the photos? Exactly how many do we get?

The exact number of images delivered for a wedding depends on many variables, an exact number cannot be guaranteed but we always aim to overdeliver. We give an estimate above for each package. We carefully choose the best images from the sequence and we don’t discard or withold images just because we reached a quota – if the photo is good, you will get it. We regularly overdeliver for our clients.

Can we see all the photos you delete?

Only if you want about 200 pictures of us testing the light and camera settings to ensure we’re all set for the real shots.

Can you supply us with the raw files?

Part of our job as your photographer is not just to capture the moments, but also to carefully select, edit and polish them so they reflect the look and feel you fell in love with when you booked us. Because of this, we don’t provide raw files. The images you receive are fully edited, high-resolution JPG photographs that represent our artistic style and your love story at its best.

What if we want video coverage of your big day?

Although we focus solely on still photography, we can provide quotations from trusted videographers that we have worked alongside before. Of course, we are always keen to meet new providers if you have someone in mind already.

How do we book?

Let us know your date, time (if known yet), package and venue. If we are available, we ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure your date with the 75% balance due 28 days ahead of your big day.

Can we change our level of coverage after booking?

Generally speaking we only consider requests to upgrade your package but it depends on our availability and the more notice you give us, the likelier we are to accommodate the request. We aren’t getting married in south Wales. Can we still book you?

Of course! We are always pleased to photograph special days further afield, and even overseas. Get in touch with your requirements and we’ll be happy to schedule a consultation and provide a quotation that also covers our travel expenses.

What are your requirements on the day? Do you take breaks?

During a full day booking (Deluxe or The Works), photography and videography coverage usually pauses during your meal service. At this time we kindly ask that we are also fed a meal. This can be as part of your wedding meal service, or an a la carte option from your venue’s kitchen. If speeches are to take place after dinner, please notify us in advance and instruct your venue to serve us soon after the top table is served. This ensures we are ready to rejoin you when the speeches begin. We have no allergies or special dietary requirements. As we are workers not guests, we are usually served in a different area of the venue such as the bar, or in staff quarters. This is the only break we take during a full day booking.

Is a Jaffa cake a cake or a biscuit?

Yes.

Can you stop the rain on our wedding day?

Sadly no – but we can make rainy-day photos look incredibly romantic.

 

Prints, canvases and wedding albums

Many couples also wish to invest in prints, canvases for their home, photo books or a deluxe wedding album. We can advise you on the best way to do this, and options to fit your budget. As this is a highly personal decision, these are not included in our packages as standard, but we can discuss all of these with you either at our pre-wedding consultation.

If you’d like us to manage this for you, we work with the best print labs in Britain to produce a beautiful selection of prints, canvases, photo books and wedding albums.

Rest assured we will never give you the “hard sell” or steer you towards overpriced albums and large markups. In fact, all of our packages include an online gallery featuring your wedding images as a digital download – some couples prefer to manage their prints themselves.

One of us will be delighted to join you for two hours of photography which can be used however you wish, but is usually used to cover the ceremony, photos of the happy couple and some group photos.

Travel within the county of Carmarthenshire is included in this price, but please enquire before booking for occasions further afield as these will require a small travel charge.
